Pinta BAphoto is currently the most prominent art fair in Latin America specializing in photography. Based in Buenos Aires, the fair has established itself as an undisputed reference point for photography, providing a meeting space for artists, curators, specialized critics, collectors, and an increasingly broader audience. Pinta BAphoto has worked to promote the development of photography within the artistic field and to highlight its value on an international level.

For the seventh consecutive year, the masterclass “Preserve or Fictionalize the Archive: Processes and Displacements in Contemporary Photographic Practice” will be held, led by architect and artist Vivian Galban.
Date: Thursday, October 9, 7 PM (ARG) | 6 PM (MIAMI)
Free activity with limited spots. On Zoom.

Always Art offers a virtual tour of the exhibited works, with direct access to participating galleries at Pinta BAphoto and their Latin American art proposals in a simple and global way. An online experience enhanced by the alliance between Pinta BAphoto and Always Art, expanding the fair’s international reach.

At Pinta BAphoto, a wide variety of galleries are exhibited, known for the quality of their proposals, showcasing modern and contemporary artists from different countries whose artistic practices are deeply intertwined with the language of photography.

The section brings together galleries and artists from different regions of Argentina who approach photography from diverse perspectives. It invites us to explore how the image can become part of broader processes where technique, narrative, and material experimentation intersect. In this way, photography unfolds as a shifting territory, capable of activating memories, narratives, and experiences that open new ways of seeing and telling.

In this edition, Pinta BAphoto pays tribute to Anatole Saderman (Moscow, 1904 – Buenos Aires, 1993), whose work transformed Argentine photography by combining technical rigor with poetic sensibility. His portraits and visual studies of artists and writers created a body of work that continues to influence contemporary photography both locally and internationally.

Video Project presents a solo show dedicated to the work of artist Donna Conlon, who lives and works in Panama. With a career spanning more than two decades, the U.S.-born biologist and artist (b. 1966) has articulated powerful artistic statements of social and ecological critique through her photographs and videos, which reflect humanity’s reckless behavior in a globalized world.

The curatorial team of Pinta BAphoto 2025 is composed of Irene Gelfman, global curator of Pinta; Carlos Gutierrez and Joaquín Rodríguez, curators of NEXT | Out of Focus; Guad Creche, curator of RADAR; and Francisco Medail, curator of the artist tribute.

The cycle aims to bring closer to the general public those proposals that contemplate diversity in productive processes and techniques, resulting in different visual outcomes. In order to create bridges between visitors and the artworks, the curator conducts an explanatory tour through a colloquial and accessible language, while keeping in mind the need to promote the creation of new audiences for contemporary art.
