Pinta BAphoto celebrates its 20th anniversary and is currently the most significant specialized art fair in photography in Latin America. Based in Buenos Aires, the fair has firmly established itself as an undisputed reference point for photography, fostering a meeting place for artists, curators, specialized critics, collectors, and an ever-growing audience. Since its foundation in 2005, Pinta BAphoto has been dedicated to promoting the development of photography within the artistic field and enhancing its international standing.
The Artist Tribute Section celebrates the legacy of an influential artist whose work is permeated by photographic practice, offering a retrospective that includes everything from their most iconic productions to the exhibition of unpublished works and archival material. Thus, Artist Tribute provides a different perspective and a deep dialogue about the work of the chosen artist and their impact on modern and contemporary art.
Out of Focus is a sector dedicated to exploring the various procedures, languages, and materialities enabled by the photographic medium. Its curatorial proposal deepens the purpose of giving visibility to the photography of emerging artists and galleries from across the country, and serving as a platform where heterogeneity allows for presenting the universe of possibilities of this medium. Photography as an experimental record of the world, as an exploration of the relationships between memory and archive, or as intense modulation between intimate gaze and social reality, finds a flexible and receptive space to open up to a renewed audience.
Video Project is the section of Pinta BAphoto exclusively dedicated to showcase moving images. In its latest edition, the proposal aimed to present videos that problematize the relationship of the body with the environment and the notion that in each act of looking there is an expectation of meaning, where what matters is not just to see, but how we process and relate things.
Since 2015, Wunderkammer has been the fair sector dedicated to heritage photography. Its goal is to highlight the work of various agents specialized in recovering and valuing historical and documentary photographic material.

In the previous edition, artist Andrés Ramírez Gavira exhibited his project "Sources"; a work where photography is involved in various research strategies including sound and mathematics.
BAphoto presents LiveTalk, a series of conversations reflecting with local and international artists, curators, collectors, gallery owners, and museum directors, dedicated to collaboratively investigating different aspects of photography and contemporary art.

The cycle aims to bring closer to the general public those proposals that contemplate diversity in productive processes and techniques, resulting in different visual outcomes. In order to create bridges between visitors and the artworks, the curator conducts an explanatory tour through a colloquial and accessible language, while keeping in mind the need to promote the creation of new audiences for contemporary art.
